Werner Florencio Ovalle Ramírez

Werner Florencio Ovalle Ramírez has been appointed as the new head of the Superintendencia de Administración Tributaria (SAT) in Guatemala for the period 2025-2030, following a selection process completed in April 2023. As the fifth Deputy Minister of Governance responsible for narcotics and a former Customs Intendant, he will oversee a significant tax revenue target of nearly Q109 billion during his first year, aimed at financing the government's expenditure program. His upcoming leadership will also involve navigating complex international trade challenges influenced by U.S. tariff policies.
