Wifak Besbess

Wifak Besbess is the head of the Environmental Control Service for Chemical Products in Tunisia. She is known for her advocacy on the safe use of chemical insecticides, particularly highlighting their dangers when used indoors. In a recent appearance on the radio program 'Sabah El Tounseya', she emphasized the importance of proper ventilation after spraying insecticides and recommended waiting for a minimum of one hour before re-entering treated areas, especially for vulnerable populations such as children, pregnant women, and the elderly. Besbess also encouraged the use of legally sanctioned insecticides and suggested natural alternatives like essential oils and repellent herbs.
