Wilhelm Kauders

Wilhelm Kauders was a notable Czech electrical engineer who faced severe persecution during the Holocaust. He and his family were imprisoned in the Theresienstadt ghetto from 1942 to 1945; however, they survived due to Kauders' expertise, which the Nazis deemed necessary. His experiences in the ghetto profoundly influenced the writings of his son, the acclaimed author Ivan Klíma, who often reflected on the horror and resilience of their family's journey through adversity.
