William Davidson
William Davidson was a pivotal figure in the history of motorcycling, best known for his role in the founding of Harley-Davidson. Born in Aberlemno, Scotland, in the early 19th century, he emigrated to the United States with his family in 1857. In Milwaukee, he established a small workshop that became the birthplace of the iconic motorcycle brand, as he helped his sons, Arthur and Walter, along with their friend William Harley, create the first Harley-Davidson motorcycles in 1903.
