William de la Rosa is a resident of the Alameda del Río urbanization in Barranquilla, Colombia, who recently gained attention for capturing a video of two capybaras, known locally as chigüiros, wandering through the common areas of his residential complex. His footage, recorded in the early hours of March 15, 2024, highlighted the animals' search for food and water, prompting a call for intervention from the Corporación Autónoma Regional del Atlántico (CRA) to address the welfare of these creatures as they sought to return to nearby wetlands.
