William Knight

William Knight is celebrated for setting a world speed record of 7,274 kilometers per hour (6.7 Mach) in October 1967 while piloting the rocket-powered X-15 aircraft, earning him the title of 'the fastest man on Earth.' Shortly after, he also flew to an altitude of 80 kilometers, crossing the boundary into space. His remarkable achievements in aviation and aeronautics have left a lasting legacy in the field.
