
Willinton Vanegas Leyva
Willinton Vanegas Leyva, also known by his aliases Dumar or Chito, was a prominent leader of the Estado Mayor Central (EMC), the largest dissident faction of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). He gained notoriety for his involvement in consolidating strategic drug trafficking routes across the Meta and Guaviare departments. His leadership came to an end in early October 2023 when he was killed during a military operation targeting the dissidents in the region, an event that triggered a series of violent confrontations and subsequent tensions with local communities.
