Wiremu Te Pou

Wiremu Te Pou, 28, was recently jailed for four years and two months for aggravated burglary in Havelock North, where he attempted to rob a woman at knifepoint. Te Pou has a history of mental health issues and reportedly acted under duress, believing the victim had cash in her home after selling a car. Despite his admission of guilt and expression of remorse, the court noted that mental illness did not excuse his actions.
