Wolfgang Hoz
Wolfgang Hoz is a retired Swiss military officer who commanded a Bloodhound surface-to-air missile station for the Swiss Army for five years. At 71 years old, he has a deep knowledge of Switzerland's historical air defense capabilities, notably during the Cold War when the country boasted one of the densest air defenses in Europe. Hoz has been an outspoken critic of the decision to decommission the Bloodhound systems in 1999, lamenting the lack of a successor system and the resulting vulnerability of Switzerland's airspace. Today, he remains involved in promoting the historical significance of the remaining Bloodhound site, which is preserved as an open-air museum.
