Wolfgang La Roche

Wolfgang La Roche was the husband of Swiss artist Meret Oppenheim, with whom he shared a complex and unconventional marriage. Known as the 'black sheep' of a prominent Basel family, he was a jazz enthusiast and motorcycle rider who married Oppenheim in 1949, helping her gain Swiss citizenship and supporting her artistic endeavors while maintaining their individual freedoms.
