Wu Shaoping

Wu Shaoping is a Chinese human rights lawyer who fled China in late 2019 amid a crackdown on legal advocates. Known for taking on sensitive cases involving religious minorities and political dissidents, he became a prominent figure in the fight for political and legal reform in China. After arriving in the United States on a tourist visa, he applied for asylum, which remains pending. Recently, he was arrested by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while working as an Amazon courier, raising concerns about his potential deportation back to China, where he could face persecution.
