Xayrullo Ibodullayev, a 36-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, gained attention for heroically rescuing a child who had fallen from the seventh floor of a building in Saint Petersburg. He spotted the child precariously perched on a window ledge while playing with a tablet and shouted for him to step back. When the child lost his grip and fell, Ibodullayev managed to catch him, sustaining injuries himself in the process. He recently moved to Saint Petersburg four months prior to the incident, seeking work to support his four children and ailing parents back in Uzbekistan.
