Y Puran Kumar
Y Puran Kumar was a 2001-batch IPS officer and the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in Haryana, known for his outspoken stance against irregularities in the police department, including alleged caste bias. He was a native of Andhra Pradesh and held a BE in computer science, as well as an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. Kumar was set to take over as head of the Police Training Centre in Sunaria before his tragic death at the age of 52, where he was found with a gunshot wound and a nine-page note, reportedly highlighting issues within the police force.
