Yahdon Israel is a 35-year-old senior editor at Simon & Schuster and the founder of a book club aimed at encouraging heterosexual men to read more fiction. After a panic attack and a subsequent diagnosis of depression, Israel emerged with a deeper understanding of how reading can address issues of masculinity and emotional expression.
