Yahia Hamoud

Yahia Hamoud, a 27-year-old former resident of Aleppo, returned to his war-torn hometown to assist the White Helmets in clearing dangerous unexploded ordnance. Having fled the city at the beginning of the conflict, he expresses a bittersweet sense of hope and heartbreak as he confronts the devastation while working to protect others from the remnants of violence.
