Yang Xiaodong

Yang Xiaodong is a prominent Chinese art researcher born in 1972, who has dedicated over 30 years to the study and restoration of the murals at the Maijishan Grottoes, one of China's four major grotto sites. He is known for his work in replicating and enhancing the ancient murals, particularly the renowned 'Eastern Smile' wall paintings. His efforts culminated in the 'Eastern Smile' Maijishan Grottoes mural art exhibition, which showcases over 130 meticulously crafted replicas, helping to preserve and promote the historical and cultural significance of this artistic heritage.
