Yaren

Yaren is a stork renowned for her unique bond with Adem Yılmaz, a fisherman from Eskikaraağaç Köyü near Uluabat Lake. Their friendship began 14 years ago when Yaren made her nest in the village and established a connection with Adem, who welcomed her presence. Each year, upon returning from migration, Yaren reunites with Adem, often seen accompanying him on fishing trips. Their heartwarming story has gained international attention, resulting in a documentary titled 'Yaren', which won the Best Documentary Award at the Prague Awards in 2019. Yaren's recent return after a delay this year sparked joy and excitement among animal lovers and her devoted friend Adem, marking the arrival of spring.
