Yaroslav Pilunskyi

Yaroslav Pilunskyi is a Ukrainian cinematographer and volunteer who served in the tactical group 'Adam' during the conflict in Bakhmut. Known for his unique perspective on time and reality, he captures the harrowing experiences of war through drone footage while grappling with the psychological impacts of PTSD. A former pacifist, Pilunskyi felt compelled to return to the frontlines after promising his pregnant wife he would not fight, driven by a desire to reclaim his homeland after his own experiences of captivity in 2014.
