Yaya Jammeh is a former president of The Gambia, known for his long and controversial rule from 1994 until his exile in 2017. He has been implicated in numerous human rights violations, and the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission (TRRC) has recommended prosecution for his crimes, alongside members of his regime.
