Writing under the pen name Yellow Heights, this first-generation immigrant math teacher has penned a memoir titled 'Unbalanced: Memoir of an Immigrant Math Teacher,' where he critiques the left-wing culture he encountered in the U.S. education system. After growing up in poverty in China and pursuing a successful career in finance and technology, he shifted to teaching, only to face challenges related to 'wokeness' and ideological conformity within educational institutions. His book, which combines personal reflection with a critique of educational practices, has garnered significant attention and recognition, including a Maxy Award. Heights shares his experiences navigating an environment that he feels stifles critical inquiry and prioritizes social justice over academic rigor.
