
Yen Cheng-kuo
Yen Cheng-kuo (顏正國) was a Taiwanese actor who gained fame as a child star in the 1980s, particularly known for his role in the beloved film series 'The Kung-Fu Kids' (好小子). His early career included collaborations with renowned director Hou Hsiao-hsien, appearing in films such as 'Cheerful Wind' and 'The Boys from Fengkuei.' Despite his success, Yen faced significant challenges, including a 15-year prison sentence for involvement in a kidnapping case, from which he emerged in 2012 to rebuild his life through teaching calligraphy and engaging in charity work. He later published an autobiography and directed films, advocating for youth to avoid the mistakes he made. Yen passed away at the age of 50, after battling stage 4 lung adenocarcinoma.
