Yendri Romero

Yendri Romero, a 32-year-old mother of two, found herself in a dire situation during the recent earthquakes that struck Playa Grande in La Guaira, Venezuela. While she was in a building close to the one that caught fire following a gas explosion, Yendri managed to escape just in time. She recalls the terrifying sounds of gas leaking and the ensuing chaos as the flames engulfed multiple buildings. As a member of a community that has been largely abandoned by government aid, Yendri continues to rely on support from volunteers and other residents as they seek to rebuild their lives after this tragic event.
