Yi Xinyu

Yi Xinyu was a 21-year-old Chinese sailor who tragically lost his life during a collision involving a China Coast Guard ship and a naval destroyer in the South China Sea on August 11, 2025. He was posthumously awarded the title of 'martyr' by the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force for his participation in a 'rights defense operation,' reflecting the ongoing tensions in the contested waters of the region.
