
Yissachar Dov Rokeach
Yissachar Dov Rokeach is the Hasidic Rebbe of the Belz community, one of the prominent ultra-Orthodox Jewish sects. He succeeded his father, Rabbi Aharon Rokeach, and has been a central figure in the religious and communal life of his followers. Under his leadership, the Belz community has focused on strengthening Jewish education and traditional practices, while also engaging in political advocacy on behalf of ultra-Orthodox interests in Israel. Recently, he was in the news due to his involvement in a request for a letter from the Israeli Minister of Defense regarding the arrests of draft evaders, as part of ongoing discussions about legislation affecting the ultra-Orthodox community.
