Yohanan ben Nappaha

Yohanan ben Nappaha, also known as Rabbi Yohanan, was a prominent Talmudic sage in the second generation of Amoraim in the Land of Israel, celebrated for his intellectual prowess and leadership in Jewish religious scholarship. He was the teacher of Rish Lakish, who transformed from a bandit into a scholar under his guidance. Rabbi Yohanan's teachings and rulings laid foundational principles of Jewish law and ethics, making him a critical figure in the development of the Talmudic tradition.
