Yorgos Mazonakis, born in 1972 in Nikaia, Piraeus, is a renowned Greek singer who has captivated audiences for over three decades. He gained recognition in 1993 with his debut album and became a prominent figure in the laiko music genre, known for its fusion of popular and folk music elements. Mazonakis has released numerous hits and performed extensively in Greece and abroad, including Germany, Australia, and the United States. In recent years, he also served as a judge on the Greek version of 'The Voice.' Tragically, he passed away on September 9, 2023, during a plasma exchange treatment at a private clinic in Athens, which has since led to a criminal investigation surrounding the circumstances of his death.
