Yousra Elhalees

Yousra Elhalees is a 25-year-old engineer from Gaza City, who until October 2023 lived in a wealthy neighborhood called Rimal, just a few hundred meters from the sea. Her life drastically changed after the escalation of conflict, leading her to live in a tent with her family in a refugee camp. Despite the devastation around her, Yousra expresses deep love for her city, recalling fond memories of dining at her favorite restaurant, Mazaj, which offered a blend of traditional and Western dishes. She remains determined to protect her hometown, expressing a willingness to defend it physically as the threat of occupation looms.
