Yuan Zai

Yuan Zai is a male giant panda born at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. He was sent to the Beauval Zoo in France in January 2012 as part of a China-France giant panda breeding cooperation program. Yuan Zai is notable for being one of the first giant pandas to be kept in France long-term and has contributed to the panda population with his offspring.
