Yuli Khariton

Yuli Khariton was a prominent Soviet physicist and the lead designer of the RDS-220 hydrogen bomb, commonly known as the 'Tsar Bomba' or 'Mother of Kuzma'. Under his leadership, a team of scientists developed this weapon during the Cold War, which became the most powerful nuclear bomb ever tested, capable of producing a yield of up to 50 megatons of TNT. Khariton's work not only highlighted the technological advancements of the Soviet Union in nuclear weaponry but also underscored the intense arms race between the superpowers during that era.
