Yulia Laptanovich is a Belarusian political activist and former political prisoner who, alongside her husband Igor, became involved in the protests against the government following the 2020 presidential elections in Belarus. They were both arrested and faced multiple charges related to their participation in peaceful protests and election monitoring. Yulia has endured significant hardships during her imprisonment, including health issues exacerbated by inadequate medical care. Released in October 2023, she has since relocated to Switzerland with her family, where she continues to advocate for democracy and the rights of political prisoners in Belarus.
