Yuliya Payevska

Yuliya Payevska, also known as 'Tyra,' is a Ukrainian paramedic, military service member, and volunteer who has played a significant role in providing medical care during conflicts in Ukraine. She commanded the 'Angels of Tyra' unit and served in the 61st Military Mobile Hospital from 2018 to 2020. Payevska participated in the Euromaidan protests and the war in Eastern Ukraine, gaining recognition for her bravery and dedication. In March 2022, she was captured while evacuating women and children from Mariupol. Following her release, she announced her first poetry collection, 'Nazhivo,' which reflects her experiences of captivity, war, and survival.
