Yuliya Yurina

Yuliya Yurina is a Russian-born singer and songwriter who has been living in Ukraine for over 13 years. She is a graduate of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts and is known for her work with the band YUKO, which reinterpreted Ukrainian folk songs. After the band's dissolution in 2020, Yurina embarked on a solo career, continuing to explore themes of folklore in her music, including her live album 'Gvara'. Recently, she has been in the news due to her struggle to obtain Ukrainian citizenship amid new legal restrictions affecting Russian nationals.
