Yuriy Andriyovych Yula was a Ukrainian military officer born on August 18, 1982, in the village of Volevachi, Chernihiv Oblast. He began his military career at the age of 14 by enrolling in the Chernihiv Military Lyceum. After graduating from the Sumy State University of Rocket Forces in 2005, he joined the 26th Artillery Brigade, where he rapidly advanced through the ranks to become chief of staff. Yula later commanded a division in the 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade from 2014 to 2018 before returning to the 26th Brigade as deputy commander. In 2023, he was appointed commander of the 27th Reactive Artillery Brigade named after the legendary Hetman Petro Kalnyshевskyi. He was posthumously awarded the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi for his bravery and professionalism during his service. Tragically, he lost his life on April 13, 2023, due to a Russian missile strike in Sumy, highlighting the heavy toll of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
