
Yustinian
Yustinian I was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 527 to 565 AD, best known for his ambitious legal reforms, including the creation of the Corpus Juris Civilis, which laid the foundation for modern legal systems. He also sought to reconquer lost territories of the Western Roman Empire and is famous for commissioning the construction of the Hagia Sophia, a masterpiece of Byzantine architecture.
