Yvonne Hughes

Yvonne Hughes is a Scottish comedian and community development worker who has lived with cystic fibrosis since infancy. Diagnosed at just six weeks old, Hughes faced numerous hospitalizations throughout her childhood and did not fully grasp the terminal nature of her illness until her late teens. After years of struggling with her health and facing the realities of her condition, she experienced a transformative health turnaround due to a groundbreaking drug, Kaftrio, in 2020. This new lease on life inspired her to pursue comedy, culminating in her one-woman show 'Absolutely Riddled,' which reflects on her experiences with cystic fibrosis and the joy that humor has brought to her life. Now in her 50s, Hughes uses her platform to share her story and inspire others, embodying resilience and a commitment to living fully despite the challenges she has faced.
