Zachery Olatunde

Zachery Olatunde is a teacher who was among those abducted during a mass kidnapping in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, Nigeria, on May 15. After spending 56 days in captivity with 43 other victims, he publicly addressed claims that the coordinated native attire worn by the pupils upon their release was indicative of a staged kidnapping, firmly stating that the attire was part of a school tradition observed on Fridays. Olatunde emphasized the reality of the abduction, refuting allegations and urging the public to stop spreading misinformation about the incident.
