Zafar Laiq

Zafar Laiq was a 67-year-old man from Karachi who tragically lost his life in a house fire that resulted from his own act of self-immolation. Facing severe financial difficulties and domestic issues, Zafar reportedly became despondent and set himself on fire after a heated argument with his wife about household expenses. His death occurred in the context of escalating financial hardship, as he had been unable to pay rent for the past ten months and struggled to provide basic necessities for his family. During the incident, his stepson, 17-year-old Azam, was injured while trying to rescue him.
