Zahra Joya
Zahra Joya is an Afghan journalist and women's rights advocate who gained international recognition for her courageous efforts to pursue education in a society that denied girls the right to learn under Taliban rule. Disguising herself as a boy named Mohammed Zahra to attend school, she faced significant risks to achieve her goal. After fleeing Afghanistan in 2021, she established a news organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of Afghan women and continues to advocate for their rights from her new home in the UK.
