Zahra Mousavi

Zahra Mousavi is a former teacher and prominent women's rights advocate from Afghanistan, known for her courageous protests against the Taliban's ban on girls' education and restrictions on women's participation in the workforce. After being placed on the Taliban's wanted list, she fled to Pakistan in March 2022 to protect herself and her family. Currently, she lives in hiding in Islamabad with her young daughter as she faces the threat of deportation back to Afghanistan amid a crackdown on Afghan refugees.
