Faced with the presence of extortionists demanding weekly payments from residents, she took a loan of over $3,000 to move her mother, sister, and two nephews to a private housing community in La Aurora. Zaida's family has invested more than $7,500 to secure a safer living environment, highlighting the struggles many families face in the region due to increasing insecurity.
