Zan Bady Alfred, known as 'Caterpillar', is a prominent figure in the world of powerlifting hailing from Burkina Faso. At 39 years old, he recently made headlines by winning the gold medal in the Dips category at the World Powerlifting Championship in Moscow, where he set a new African, European, and world record with a lift of 140 kg. A former national champion and vice-champion in wrestling, Zan transitioned to powerlifting in 2015, driven by his passion for strength sports. Despite facing challenges in training due to limited resources, he has emerged as an ambassador for Burkinabè sports on the international stage, aiming to promote powerlifting and inspire the younger generation.
