Zana Yaqubi

Zana Yaqubi was a promising law student at Auckland University of Technology who immigrated to New Zealand as a child with her family, fleeing war in Afghanistan. Described as intelligent and independent, she was well-regarded in her community. Tragically, she was murdered by Kanwarpal Singh in December 2022, following a prolonged period of harassment and threats from him, which she bravely reported to the police before her untimely death.
