Zeya Thaw

Zeya Thaw was a prominent rapper and anti-regime leader in Myanmar, known for his activism against the military junta that seized power in February 2021. He was the founder of the protest group Generation Wave and was executed on July 23, 2022, after being convicted in a closed trial. His death highlighted the severe consequences faced by dissenters in Myanmar, particularly in light of Telenor's alleged complicity in providing information to the military that led to his arrest and execution.
