Zhan Wenlian

Zhan Wenlian was a Chinese woman who passed away from lung cancer in 2017 at the age of 49. In a bid to preserve her for potential future revival, her husband, Gui Junmin, opted for cryogenic preservation, making her the first person in China to be cryogenically frozen. Her case has since become a focal point of ethical discussions surrounding love, loss, and the implications of dating while a spouse is preserved in cryonics.
