Zhang Yanzhong, born in March 1940 in San Yuan, Shaanxi, is a prominent Chinese aeronautical engineer and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has served as the chief designer for China's C919 large passenger aircraft and has played a central role in the development of several major national projects in aviation, including aircraft engines and gas turbines.
