Živana Žanka Stokić

Živana Žanka Stokić was one of the greatest actresses of Yugoslavia, whose career was marred by political strife during wartime. After being accused of collaborating with the enemy through her performances, she was sentenced to eight years of loss of civil rights, which she served through community service. Two years later, she was pardoned, but tragically passed away shortly after being invited to rejoin the Yugoslav Drama Theatre. Her legacy is honored by a monument erected by her maid, symbolizing the profound impact she had on those around her, despite the injustices she faced.
