Zumar

Zumar is a figure linked to the assassination of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat. In a 2011 interview with NBC, he claimed to have supplied weapons and was aware of the plans to kill Sadat, although he denied giving the order. Zumar's motivations were tied to Sadat's controversial peace treaty with Israel and his perceived violations of Sharia law, which led to his labeling as a target by Islamic militants. Following Sadat's assassination, Zumar expressed no remorse for the act but lamented that it ultimately led to Hosni Mubarak assuming power.
