
Zuzu Angel
Zuzu Angel (1921–1976) was a Brazilian fashion designer known for her innovative designs that celebrated Brazilian culture. Born in Curvelo, she gained international recognition and became a symbol of resistance against the military dictatorship in Brazil. Her life was marked by tragedy as she dedicated herself to seeking justice for her son, Stuart Angel Jones, who was disappeared and killed by the regime. Zuzu's mysterious death in a car accident in 1976 is widely believed to have been politically motivated, and she is remembered for her courage and commitment to human rights.
