Abdelrahman Shangal

Abdelrahman Shangal is a Sudanese abstract artist and academic, known for his activism in the arts and commitment to education during times of conflict. After the military coup in Sudan, he resigned as dean of the College of Fine and Applied Art in Khartoum and has since been teaching remotely while advocating for peace and democracy in Sudan. Currently based in Addis Ababa, Shangal's art often reflects the struggles and experiences of his students affected by the ongoing war in Sudan.
