
Abu Jihad
Abu Jihad, whose real name was Khalil al-Wazir, was a prominent Palestinian military leader and a co-founder of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Born in 1935 in Tunisia, he played a key role in the Palestinian resistance against Israeli occupation and was considered one of Yasser Arafat's closest associates. He was instrumental in orchestrating numerous military operations during the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. His commitment to the Palestinian cause made him a significant figure in Middle Eastern politics. Abu Jihad was assassinated in 1988 in Tunisia by Israeli commandos in a covert operation, which underscored the ongoing tensions and violence in the region.
